Omega Help dateing a speedmaster-3827 -

I'll send you a pm about this but basicly its your call, if its a good price (ie its way below Rolex and new or used omegas of the same speedy type)I'd have a Omega AD in your city check out the watch as soon as your going to buy it (or some watchmaker that you trust)

I've had a pretty good relationship with the Omega watchmaker AD in my town who never hesitates to tell me if somethings real or fake if its labeled omega in other non AD stores (again old family friend and its a savior when i'm buying relatively used Omegas)

I made a brief DIY tutorial in installing Hirsch Watchbottoms / Caseback pads. Although these pads are designed for watch wearers who are allergic to nickel, I found that this pad prevented my 116710 from sliding around as much as it did without having to tighten the bracelet.

Omega Broad Arrow - stiff to wind-8217 -

...which is a derivative of the 1861 and I find both equally "stiff" Both are much stiffer than my Dad's 45 year old, unserviced 321 Speedy, which does feel buttery smooth. To complicate things though, those old Speedies had the larger diameter crown which give you noticably more grip and torque.

Damon's probably got it right, so I wouldn't worry about it. Besides it's an automatic. Just wear that beauty!

Omega Cal 911 Flightmaster - New to me-12888 -

Thanks for all the comments. I've taken it off the original Omega rally strap and put it on a Di-modell Rallye, which retains the same look but is a lot more robust.

While the mesh is pretty cool looking and from all I've heard very comfortable, I think I am leaning towards the 1162. It is the 'correct' bracelet for the 911 agter all and I prefer the brushed finish. My only (and major) concern is that because the modern version of the 1162 is by all accounts pretty lightweight the weight of the head will cause it to slip around on the wrist. Has this been your experience, or is just a question of getting the fit right?
